UFO Reported Over China

26 July, 2010

I'm that guy who spends a lot of time surfing the World Wide Web in search of global news stories that don't bore me or raise my blood pressure. That's why I was absolutely thrilled last night when I discovered that China had a UFO sighting.

UFO sightings are always fun because for a period of time there's always that "what if" speculation that everyone takes a little more seriously than normal. This one, however, which actually happened last week, hasn't quieted down at all. In fact, there's such great video footage of the event that it's actually very difficult to say something amazing didn't happen over the skies of Hangzhou. It did, after all, shut down the Xiashan Airport for over an hour.

The video footage is awesome, and I’m glad I have high-speed internet from Verizon. With download speeds up to 3Mbps, I had plenty of bandwidth to watch videos that have been posted all over the world. I never had to wait for the video to buffer, and never had a choppy or bad picture.

For great highs-speed internet at home, get Verizon internet deals and surf the Web for whatever suits your tastes, including UFO sightings over China!

History Made At Wimbledon!

24 June, 2010

Normally, sporting events that get called on account of darkness are probably called because they got a late start. In this case, however, this tennis match from Wimbledon has actually been called twice on account of bad light, and that's because it's still going on after 10 hours!

The longest tennis match in history still isn't finished. John Isner and Nicolas Mahut have been slugging it out on the grass at Wimbledon for over 10 hours. The previous longest match in Wimbledon's history was practically a warm-up at just 5 hours 28 minutes. Isner and Mahut are set to double that time if something doesn't give when play resumes today on Court 18.

In other Wimbledon news, if you can believe there is any, five-time Wimbledon women's champion Serena Williams cruised into the third round with a 6-0, 6-4 straight-set win over Russian Ekaterina Makarova. On the men's side Roger Federer had to summons Herculean strength yet again. This time it was to overcome Serbian Ilija Bozoljac, which he finally did after four sets.

Tune in to ESPN and NBC Sports each day with Verizon digital TV in a Verizon Bundle and watch as the best in the world of tennis compete for the 2010 Wimbledon Championship!
