Verizon Customer Service Has Got Your Back

3 June, 2010

I just read today that a sleeping woman was left on an airplane for 4 hours after it landed in Philadelphia. The plane, which originated in the nation's capitol, landed around midnight in Philly. The woman, still sleeping, was discovered by cleaning crews at 4 in the morning.

Even if she was traveling alone, shouldn't at least one person on that plane have had her back? The person sitting next to her, or maybe someone from the flight crew?

Verizon Triple Play Bundle Has It All

2 June, 2010

When I think about the things I need to get through most days, and if I take food out of the equation, it pretty much boils down to three things: home phone service with unlimited calling, high-speed internet, and premium home television service. Lucky for me Verizon's Triple Play bundle includes all three in one package!

Starting with FiOS TV, I get more than 295 channels of great premium television. I can watch unedited movies, get great programming for my children, every imaginable sport broadcast in high definition, and direct links to Facebook and Twitter right on my television screen!

I spend most of my time on the internet, which is a great experience because of the download speeds offered by Verizon. The World Wide Web is totally open to me because of download speeds of up to 15Mbps. I can watch streaming movies, download music, send large files by email, and surf to any website I choose.

When I feel like making phone calls, which is often, I don't like having to worry about minutes and overcharges. I like my monthly bill to be consistent, which is why I chose the Freedom home phone plan from Verizon. I get unlimited local and long distance calling, plus 5 popular calling features.

Choose a Triple Play bundle from Verizon and enjoy a simpler way of managing the three services you use the most!

Facebook Makes Serious Upgrades To Its Privacy Settings

27 May, 2010

Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg has decided to implement some serious new privacy settings at the social networking giant, overhauling user profile settings. This, after a global backlash that had regulators, privacy advocates, and even US lawmakers demanding changes.

The changes implemented Wednesday simplify user's profile settings, allowing each user to decide, with just a few clicks, who can and cannot view the majority of their information. Third party applications and websites can now also be blocked in what is known as an opt-out system. Privacy setting options have been reduced from 50 to 15 in an effort to streamline the user experience.

So, what does Facebook have to do with Verizon deals? Well, you can certainly access Facebook with your Verizon high-speed internet connection, which delivers download speeds of up to 15Mbps. However, did you know you can also access the social networking website from your television? That's right, Verizon FiOS TV gives you direct access to Facebook and Twitter directly from your television screen!

Slipknot's Paul Gray Found Dead In Iowa Hotel

25 May, 2010

Paul Gray, bassist for the Grammy-winning band Slipknot, was found dead in an Iowa hotel room on Monday. There was no evidence of foul play.

A hotel employee found Gray, 38, dead in a room at the TownePlace Suites in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines. Gray's death is not only a crushing blow to Slipknot, but to the music world as a whole. He was a talented bassist with a huge stage presence and knew what it took to keep a live show fresh, night in and night out.

Subscribers to Verizon FiOS TV could frequently hear Slipknot's music on such great digital music channels like Metal on channel 1814, Rock Legends on channel 1913, and MTV2 Headbangers Ball on channel 1917, where Slipknot was regularly featured.

CBS Mashes Up Its Prime Time Lineup

20 May, 2010

Every once in a while a television network has to take some drastic steps. Today, CBS is that network. Gone are several well known shows, and the lineup has been tossed into the blender and thoroughly mixed up.

Okay, keep up if you can. Big Bang Theory moves to Thursday, Survivor moves to Wednesday, CSI: Miami to Sunday, and CSI: NY to Friday. That's the shuffle. Let's see where the axe landed.

Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, New Adventures of Old Christine, and Numb3rs; Accidentally on Purpose starring Jenna Elfman, Jerry Bruckheimer's Miami Medical, and Jay Mohr's comedy Gary Unmarried.

So, is there an upside to all this? There is if you've got FiOS TV and a DVR from Verizon. See, it doesn't matter which show moves to what night, or even if one that's been cancelled on one network shows up on another. Just choose to record the entire series on your DVR and stop worrying about the time slot or even the day! Your DVR will find it and record it!
