Verizon’s Digital Transition is Complete

24 November, 2008

The mandatory digital transition is just around the corner, happening in February of 2009, and Verizon is one step ahead. Verizon’s FiOS TV, as if it weren’t amazing already, is now 100 percent digital, so you’ll have nothing to worry about when the switch happens. Starting in April, Verizon started phasing out the analog channels that were duplicates. However, customers weren’t left without their favorite shows, because as an added bonus customers could have a free digital adapter, so now they could enjoy the all-digital service.

Vice President of FiOS Product Management, Shawn Strickland, said “Our customers were able to watch all the channels they previously had, along with many new channels, and enjoyed better, all-digital quality without spending an extra dime.” He added, “We'll continue offering customers a range of affordable equipment options so they get the most from their FiOS TV experience.” Strickland commented on how Verizon is a leading provider, and he said “For any consumer, but especially those impacted by the digital broadcast transition, this is a good time to reconsider the network they’re using and think about switching to FiOS TV. When you subscribe to FiOS TV, you receive superior quality, [and] all-digital programming delivered over the nation’s most advanced fiber-optic network straight to your home.”

Verizon did all that was possible to alert its customers of the changes being made. Customers were given letters, emails, even phone calls and messages on their television set, to make sure they were informed. Not only that, but Verizon also set up a website that provided customers with all the answers to their questions about the switch. With Verizon, you can rest easy, knowing that they do all they can for you. Verizon provides its customers with the best viewing, the best price, and the best entertainment solutions.

So, now you can watch your favorite shows like Lost, Ugly Betty, and Grey’s Anatomy, all in high definition, and for free, the next day after their programming debut.

The Executive Vice President of Disney and ESPN Networks said, “We are excited to team with Verizon to expand our VOD offering to their FiOS TV customers.” He continued, “This is yet another example of our dedication to exploring innovative models that enable us to both make our most popular content available to viewers on a variety of platforms and add value to our distribution and advertising partners.”
